Meals on Wheels helps housebound seniors aged 60 and older maintain a healthy diet by delivering nutritionally-balanced, low-cost meals to clients. Volunteer drivers distribute meals and perform wellness checks each weekday. Seniors are asked to contribute towards their meal costs if they are able, but no client is turned away for financial reasons.

OPED provides Oakland seniors with subsidized door-to-door transportation services for nonemergency trips within the city. Seniors can use the service for medical appointments, social engagements and errands. Residents under the age of 70 need to register with East Bay Paratransit to use OPED, while those aged 70 and older are automatically qualified as OPED riders.
