Saginaw is home to five senior centers, providing a variety of social and recreational opportunities for older adults. Programs vary by location but typically include card and board games, arts and crafts, age-friendly fitness classes, computer classes, live entertainment and educational workshops. The centers also provide valuable services such as blood pressure screenings, wellness checks and assistance with accessing local, state and federal benefit programs. Congregate noontime meals are served at all locations.

The Saginaw County Commission on Aging oversees and administers programs and services to meet the needs of the area's older adults. Through its Meals on Wheels program, it delivers fresh, healthy meals to homebound residents aged 60 and over, and its Dining Senior Style Program features congregate noontime meals served in local senior centers and evening meals at Eleanor Frank Senior Center on Schust Road. The agency also provides case management services to help older adults obtain the services they need to maintain their independence, care management, transportation and legal consultations. It provides free cell phones that are programmed to reach 911 to qualifying adults aged 60 and over. The Commission's emergency food assistance program provides a one-time cash payment for food purchases.

The Saginaw Community Action Center offers a variety of services to older adults who live at home. Its Elderly & Disabled Home Repair Program provides repairs to roofing and gutters, electrical work, plumbing, flooring, drywall and heating and air conditioning units. It may also provide door and window replacements and add handicap-accessible features. Its Weatherization Program provides free weatherization services to income-qualifying individuals. The center also administers the Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program, which helps qualifying seniors obtain extra help from Medicare to pay for prescription drugs.
