Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island is a nonprofit program that ensures homebound seniors get the daily nutrition they need to remain happy and healthy. Dedicated volunteers deliver a lunch-time meal five times per week to participating seniors. In addition to meals, volunteers also perform safety checks and socialization. This program is available to adults age 60 and older who are homebound and unable to prepare their own meals or attend a local dining program. While there is a suggested donation, this program is available to seniors free of charge.

Homebound adults who are age 55 older and living independently at home can schedule transportation services with Transwick Senior Transportation. The program is designed as a gap transportation program to help seniors access a variety of local destinations. While its primary purpose is to facilitate trips to the Pilgrim Senior Enrichment Center for congregate meals, recreational programs and social services, the program also runs services for weekly grocery shopping, pharmacy pickups and health screenings, as well as monthly retail shopping excursions. There is a small $1.00 fee for the round-trip service.
