SeniorAdvice.com Names America’s Best Companies for Seniors
A comprehensive list of companies offering outstanding discounts, perks and job opportunities for seniors.
AUSTIN, TX -- SeniorAdvice.com, one of the nation's top senior housing referral services and caregiver advocacy sites, performed a study to find the best 20 companies in America for seniors. According to the U.S. census, by the year 2035 one in every five residents will be of retirement age. With the number of seniors on the rise, many companies understand the importance of honoring our older generations.
Some of the ways these companies show outstanding dedication to the senior community are by providing job opportunities, supplemental income during retirement, unique retirement benefits programs, special perks, and discounts. Our study sought to identify and credit companies that display outstanding dedication to the senior community.
Based on these parameters, below is a list of America’s best companies for seniors:
- Rover
- Kelly Services
- Southwest Airlines
- Lyft
- Amazon Prime
- Young Living Oils
- Aerospace Corporation
- National Park Service
- Kohl’s
- Airbnb
- T-Mobile
- Regal Theaters
- Etsy
- All City Management Services (ACMS)
- Honeybaked Ham
- Spectrum Cable Internet
- Upwork
- McDonald’s
- H&R Block
- Orkin
The majority of the companies on the list are named because they have excellent job opportunities for seniors. For example, Kelly Services offers temporary or transitional work plans for workers of retiring age; while Aerospace Corporation offers the flexibility to older employees to reduce hours worked over time; and the National Park Service offers full-time, part-time and seasonal ranger jobs throughout the year with the added benefit of getting to work outdoors.
Other companies were highlighted because seniors have the opportunity to earn some extra income in their retirement. For example, those over the age of 60 receive better reviews than any other age group who participate as vacation rental hosts through Airbnb; acting as a Lyft driver can be a fun income-producer for seniors who love meeting new people; Etsy is a lucrative opportunity for seniors who enjoy spending their days on arts and crafts; and being an overnight dog boarder (senior sitter) or dog walker through Rover can help seniors keep company and earn extra funds.
Several companies were highlighted because they have outstanding discounts or perks for seniors. Southwest Airlines has fare discounts for those over 65; T-Mobile offers a great discount to seniors for their T-Mobile ONE plan; Amazon Prime gives a significant savings to seniors who are on Medicaid; and Kohl’s offers customers aged 60 and over a special 15 percent discount in their stores every Wednesday.
“One of our main company goals is to provide helpful information and research to seniors and their loved ones which identify opportunities that will make their lives easier,” said SeniorAdvice.com’s Founder and CEO, Ryan Patterson. “We’ve identified this list of great companies for seniors to hopefully inspire older adults who are interested in pursuing second careers or would like to produce extra income from their daily hobbies.”
