Abbey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center

I am writing this because of the care my dad receives. We are from WV and we just came down to Florida to visit dad at the abbey. The first day there I didn't know how to react when I saw him just saying the care is so poorly ????. My dad looked like a wild man his hair was long from his head to ears and nose. Also his skin was so dry, his bottom of his feet was so thick with dry skin. So I went out and bought clippers to cut his hair and body soap to bath him also lotion. When I was bathing him we ask for a wash tub, I got a large cup and one wash rag when ask for another wash rag was told they didn't have anymore. So we used what we had. The attitude some of them when ask to even open a door was really bad.My dad also has bed sores on his bottom from where he does not get changed like he should be. They got my dad on a room with 2 other people because they are being quarantine, because dad just recently came from the hospital i was told he will be in that room for 2 weeks. Well 3 in a room my dad has a wheelchair that you can't really get through there. Also just one Time has a doctor called me about my dad, and the funny thing is he never treated my dad before, but I was told by him he would be the one treating my dad and would call me on Thursday but that Thursday has went by several weeks now. So I have not heard from that doctor. Was told when my dad went there March 24th on his birthday he would get Therapy 6 days out of the week, I don't believe he does because I had every attention on bring him home to WV with us, but he is still to weak to move for now. It really upsets me to know that I had to leave him there. I can promise this as soon as he builds up enough strength he will be coming home and never ever returning to this place. What I had seen about the abbey it is very under staffed and the people there are not getting the care they need.
