Bria of Palos Hills

My mother-in-law was moved to Bria of Palos Hills after her hip replacement surgery. She received little if any rehab. She was told to do bed exercises for the first 2 weeks. She was never out of bed to sit in a chair during her entire month stay there. The social workers there were either overworked or incompetent. The surgeon ordered her stitches removed a month after her surgery. They were not removed until she came home 2 weeks later by the visiting nurse. We had to go back to the facility to obtain her discharge papers. We were not notified of the medications she was taking. The social worker forgot to call a transport service on the day she was leaving. Her food was always delivered cold and she would often lay in a soiled diaper for hours. This is not health care.

My husband is currently at Bria Palos Hgts. It is a nightmare! They took his foley out WITHOUT permission from his urologist. He had a torn urethra. He ended up in the ER. One nurse on duty for the floor. Three of his nurses have told him that with attitude. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

I had a very good experience while here for a stay due to a COVID experience. The CNAs, Nurses,pPT and OT staff were excellent. The food was outstanding. If I ever needed rehabilitation. I would come there.

My son went to Bria long term care in July , 2018 and from the minute we arrived the staff was so welcoming and kind. We thought he would be there forever but with all the professional help he is home with us today. (December 2019) He gives all the credit to Bria for his success at reaching so many wonderful goals. They never gave up on him and worked with him in a very positive way!!! Thank you Bria, we are forever grateful!!!

I would give it a 0 if I could. Administration terrible to work with. No communication. This was a banaid fix until I found a much better place closer to home. Could not get her out fast enough. Two weeks there and medical director never met her. Finally went in person and took 8 hours to get her transfer. Almost a week later and still waiting for her refund.

My sister in law was here in January of 2019. She suddenlybecame very weak and sick. For over a week I tried to get them to check her out. They said nothing was wrong. We told them we thought it was a UTI. They told me they did labs. They did not. They told me she was on an antibiotic. I found out she was not ! I finally called an ambulance. She had an UTI and was septic. We took her off life support a week later. She was 68 and only there for short term rehab
