Briarcliffe Manor

I would highly warn against placing your loved one at this facility. I couldn't get my Mom out quickly enough. The only staff workers that were remotely professional, were the social worker and the PT professionals. The PT folks are contract workers, per diem. I wish I could have left zero stars.

Unfortunately, one star must be given. I don't believe 20% is a low enough rating. My family/ friend was treated so poorly. They came in from the hospital on the correct diet and medications. The care was abominable. The call lights were never answered. If they were acknowledged, it was only to cancel them. The request was ignored whether it was the patient or family. They suffered SEVERE electrolyte imbalance after 2 weeks of a salt free diet. Also, one of their blood thiners was the wrong dose and the consequences were dire with an ICU stay, several Blood Transfusions, procedures and so much more. There's more, but any reader can get the general idea. More concerning, any issues, questions and or serious complaints were ignored and dismissed or met with hostility and aggression at times. There was no sense of urgency. Nor, were there any attempts to rectify any situation. There were 6 of us visiting regularly and we all witnessed the same pathetic apathy, neglect and deplorable standards. Finally, the owner is ABSENT. We requested to meet with him several times to no avail. Sad........

My mother was in Briarclff rehab for 20 days. When we finally git her home we noticed a bruise on her tailbone. I believe my mother was dropped when moving her. I also witnessed the CNA trying to get her back in her wheelchair after her using the bathroom and they where unable to it. They had to call physical therapist to do this. They also would just leave her food tray with food she could not possibly eat. I believe this care or non care added to my moms decline. Beware when putting your love-ones in their care. From what i could see owners are putting more of their money i into their assisted living as the rehab part continues to decline.

If I could give this establishment no stars I would do it. I had my mom come in with dementia, they asked me to come in to sign paperwork later I find out from an elder affairs lawyer that I sould get that paperwork back. I tried and they told me no. When I stated it wasn't fully explained and i spoke to a lawyer they told me they were going to call the police and have me arrested. Absolutely horrible. I have never been treated so rudely ever in my life. I will not be doing business with them anymore.
