I want to take a few minutes to warn my friends about a business in Merrillville Indiana called Christian Home Health Care. My mom husband has a Golden Technologies Lift chair and the remote and cord was acting up and finally died, and he needs the assistance from this chair to stand up. I did some testing of the chair and every possible issue and came to the conclusion the remote needed to be replaced. I called Golden Technologies the maker of the chair who gave me the serial number, model number and part number of the chair. Golden Technologies is just the manufacturer and could not sell me a part, advised me that I would need to go through a service center. This is where Christian Home Health Care comes in. Golden Technologies tells me, call them, they will call us and order the remote, it’s covered under warranty, you pay shipping and we are done. I drive to Christian Home Health Care at 4200 W. Lincoln Hwy, Merrillville, IN 46410 (219)641-4001 and I meet with Ramone. Remone tells me they will have to go inspect the chair and make sure it is the remote. They charge my parents $75.00 and do a service call, telling me “yep it’s the remote, but we can’t work on your chair because you didn’t buy it from us”. WAIT, WHAT??? I said you knew I didn’t buy it from you in the first place, yet you took these elderly people’s $75.00 anyway??? Long story short I talked with Ramone’s boss tells me Remone is in training and should not be dealing with the public anyway. She later refunded a portion of the $75. Minus shipping for the remote, and a $10.00 administration fee for making a phone call with all of the information I provide. Christina Home Health Care services a wide variety of lift chairs and scooters, but use caution when you use this service because if you didn’t buy it there, they will try and scam you or your elderly parents. Doesn't seem much like a Christian place after all does it?
