Place has changed a lot! Do not go there!!

Our father (mid80s) moved to Crestview for nursing care in Fall 2020. Initially, he received outstanding care. The director had been working there 30 years, had worked her way up, and she and her staff (mostly longterm employees) genuinely cared for each and every resident. We felt lucky to be there.That all changed Summer 2021. The director left and within 6 months, nearly all longterm key people had left (social worker, activities director, nursing director, charge nurses, office manager) as had many longterm nurses and CNAs. The quality of care declined noticeably, communications became difficult (it was even hard to get people to answer the phone), the bill (which we needed for LTC insurance reimbursement) stopped coming in the mail, chaos!Previously, the facility was well-staffed, but by late winter 2022, they were obviously understaffed and morale had dropped; they were relying on agency (temp) staffing. The atmosphere was increasingly chaotic and tense. During my daily visits, I saw that several residents who had been reasonably calm before were increasingly agitated. Our parent's mood also declined, and he was exercising less and less and spending most of his time just sitting. The new director seemed very disengaged.Finally, we move our parent to another facility. The new director never asked why we were leaving, and didn't seem to care. When we moved, we found that some of his belongings had disappeared, and we found another resident's clothing in his drawer.This used to be an award-winning facility, but I would not recommend it to anyone, friend or enemy. If you have family there, please visit often and at different times of the day/evening, and get to know families of other residents so you know what is going on there.
