Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center

My father spent several months in rehab at Daughters of Sarah. All I can say is wow! All of the nurses and caretakers went out of their way to form relationships with my dad which greatly improved his experience. The kindness and compassion we were shown started at the front door was felt throughout the facility down to the woman who changed his sheets. In fact, even the business office folks were helpful and kind. There were a lot of activities that broke up the day, but it was all my dad's choice if he wanted to join or not. He could pick out his own clothes and even choose his feed from a daily menu. It wasn't like some places where the elderly are "warehoused" in their rooms. We thought he had a great experience. I highly recommend it!

Daughters of Sarah cuts corners to save money at the expense of the resident. The care is terrible. The blue unit is disgusting, smells of urine, terrible management, no accountability.. The ward clerk gets annoyed if you ask for anything.The staff is hit or miss, most do not want to do their job. Out of pocket cost for 1 month is $ 13,000. The level of care you get is worth $13.00. Terrible. They should be ashamed.

Hit and miss, mostly miss, care with serious problem of understaffing and lack of staff supervision and the use of outside ''agency'' personnel who don't know residents or normal nursing home procedures. Many disillusioned and embittered staffers who see cost cutting going on at the expense of resident care. Weekends the worst. Often have to hunt down aides, who often seem to be hiding from those they're suppose to serve. Many aides with resentment "attitude," like they're doing you a favor by doing their jobs. Doctors a rarity. Mixups frequent. Food service ridiculous, slow, inefficient, sometimes desserts served before entree. Place is dirty with deteriorating infrastructure. Was a painful embarrassment to resident's family.
