Garden Terrace of Houston

Very good care from a professional staff. I only give them four stars because the food is not great.

This sites rating system is requiring me to award Garden Terrace at Houston at least one star before it will allow me to post my personal review of the facility. It is for this reason that I am giving it a very undeserving 1 star. This review is made in good faith and is based on my own personal experience and observations made during my unfortunate encounter with night staff at Garden Terrace at Houston, Life Care Centers of America, while attempting to check on my closest and dearest friend, who I considered to my lifeline for nearly two decades. I believe that this is the first negative review in which I have ever posted. I do not particularly enjoy pointing out people’s flaws. In fact, on the rare occasion that I do write a review, it is usually because someone has demonstrated care, kindness, and compassion toward myself or another, not because it was their job and they were they being paid to pretend to care, but rather, because they their care and concern for others was genuine. It is when I encounter an exceptional individual such as this, that I feel the need to call attention to their considerate actions and attempt to make certain that their kindness, concern, and compassion is recognized and does not go unnoticed. However, unfortunately, this is far from the case here with Garden Terrace of Houston. My unfortunate experience with the night staff at Garden Terrace at Houston was literally life changing. I do not want to go into detail too much, as I am bringing suit against the facility. I am extremely distressed over the unnecessary actions taken by the night nurse and the collateral consequences, which she unnecessarily caused to take place as the direct result of her evil and unnecessary actions. I need to say something to express my concerns. The damage has already been done by the facility and words are not able to remedy what they have caused to occur, so rather than allow their wrong doing and evil actions to cause me to trash someone or the facility that they work for, I will try to say something positive, something just to remind people, patients, and medical professionals as well to please remember that just because someone is a so-called Medical Professional does not mean that they are not capable of making mistakes or making the wrong call. They are only human too. It’s okay to question things and sometimes necessary and essential to the wellbeing of others. Know your rights and the the rights of patients, whether they be a friend, Loved one or stranger. Always advocate for the ones that you Love and for anyone who you may cross paths with who may not otherwise have anyone to advocate for them. Also, I would like to remind the staff at Terrace Garden of Houston and anyone willing to listen, that while victims of Alzheimer’s and Dementia may not be experiencing the same reality as ours, they are still living beings who have feelings and emotions, which are very real to them. If they are crying out and appear to be in distress and suffering, then please try to recognize, understand, and appreciate the fact that they have needs and feelings just as we do. They are living beings and they matter. Please do not ignore their cries because of a preconditioned belief that because they have Dementia or Alzheimer's they don’t need and deserve to be comforted. They do need to be Loved, they do matter, and they deserve the same quality of care and attention that any other patient would receive.
