Glenwood Center

It took me 4 months to relearn what I had learned in1 week at Huntsville Hospital.

Hats off to the employees and residents of Glenwood. Keep up the good work.

It's under new management and they are really getting the place in order. They Therapy has a fantastic group, nursing is really on top of things and the CNA's there are great.

Terrible substandard care. My Mom sat in her diarrhea soiled diaper and clothing for hours each day. I complained to nurse station, administration, orderlies, anyone wearing Glenwood ids to no avail. Reading her file disclosed she was given laxatives am & pm, immodium 3 x daily. Laxatives and anti diarrhetics given simultaneously every day. RN, when asked why said every patient gets both daily. Mom's clothes were soaked with foul, runny feces and no one would respond to calls for help. I finally started telling each person, employees and visitors alike in a loud voice meant to carry that my Mom had been sitting in **** for hours without attendance. 1 aide said they had so much paperwork required they wereally unable to care for patients routinely corraled in a circle near nursing stations most of the day so trips to rooms weren't necessary and it took housekeeping all day to change 20 beds on her wing. I finally told Mom it was OK to scream for help, "I'm sitting in ****" each time she pooed.She was given medicine meant for her roommate that she is allergic to and was wearing her allergy alert bracelet at the time!PT is ordered because it generates CMS funds regardless of need or benefit if it is actually performed or not. Several times I was unable to find Mom, was told she was at PT but trip upstairs to PT department yielded no Mom. One man whose wife was imprisoned here said he thought there was a hiding room where patients were left, family told 'at PT', as he and others had also been unable to locate family at the facility. I was billed for SNF services that required an advance notice signature form that was never given to me but protests and their inability to produce it had no bearing on billing by either CMS or the companies that approve the action in favor of ??? Glenwood.Almost $5000. RUN FROM THIS PLACE.
