Green Valley Rehabilitation Health Center

Recently spent 4 weeks at Green Valley Rehab and upon arriving was pretty skeptical about where I was admitted. It is a combination rehab/nursing center which I was not prepared for. However after settling in, came to know many of the CNAs, administration, nurses, and therapists who tried to make me feel comfortable and work thru my physical needs. Loved my therapists who pushed me to greater expectations on a daily basis and my CNAs who have a very hard, physical job. I think if there are a couple areas that need updating and improvements are the bed linens (well used) and the food. The food company they use is sub-parr and very poor quality. My overall experience at Green Valley was much better than I originally thought it would be. Finally, the social worker Melinda, was very helpful with questions and follow up and checkout processes.

I have a family member recently admitted for rehab care. After touring three facilities and receiving recommendations, decided on Green Valley -- What a mistake! I had to help the aide make the bed upon admission and the sheets had little holes in them. The food is terrible - juice unrecognizable. Medical staff started changing regular medications that can have a devastating affect. One NP in particular needs to find a different line of work. I cannot recommend this facility to anyone.

I stayed at this facility for eight days in 2017 to receive rehabilitation services following a major surgery. My experience was gravely sub-standard in every way.The most serious error they made was to send another patient's medication home with me. Had my care-giver not noticed the mistake, I might have taken it with dire results. Medications there were delivered by "med aides" who did not seem to know what medications they were delivering. One did not speak and pointed to her own stomach when I asked her what the medication was. My surgery was for a different part of my anatomy. Another burst into tears when I asked her the same question.The CNA staff seemed to be trained on the delivery of food trays, toileting, and not much in between. To be fair there did not seem to be a treatment plan to follow, and I was mostly left on my own with little assistance. The sheets were not changed in eight days, the food was inedible, and the staff was spread too thin.Please don't be overly influenced by their reviews.
