Greenwood House

My mom was a hospice patient of greenwood house. When they first came to do the evaluation they were very professional and caring. My mom was assigned a nurse and an aide. After 2 weeks my mom was assigned a new nurse. There was no communication between hospice and me. I felt very alone. After about another 2 weeks my mom was assigned yet another new nurse. Within the 5 months she had 4 different nurses and 2 different aides. There was no stability and no “connection”. I thought hospice was supposed to be a support for the family as well as the patient and I didn’t get that support. On the positive side...the social worker, spiritual advisor, and the volunteer were great. They both helped me get the answers I needed. When my mom passed I felt very alone. The head nurse never reached out to me and the aide who was there in the morning when my mom passed never even said good bye to me. I have learned a lesson...not all hospices are alike. I’d advise people to do their research.
