Jonesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

I am currently a long term resident here along with my husband. I can say most of the CNAs and nurses go above and beyond to make sure we are cared for. There are a few CNAs and nurses that need to find a different line if work. I know there is no place that is perfect but there are issues that need to be addressed. They are seriously understaffed especially on the weekends.Some things are seriously disorganized which makes things hard to keep up with. I feel that therapy should be scheduled daily and the patient and their CNA should know when to expect their therapy session to begin so we are ready for it. There are times when we need a CNA or nurse so we call the front desk, as our nurse call lights are consistently on and off and have been for the past two months. It takes forever to get an answer on the phone and eventually it just hangs up and we get nothing. I wonder if families on the outside have a hard time getting an answer when they call here. We have a hard time getting to a doctor here. My husband has asked them to be sure the doctor comes by the next time they're here and most of the time they don't ever stop by. There is very little consistency here except that they are consistently inconsistent. You can ask a question and get several different answers depending on who you ask. I have to say the facility is clean and has no horrible odors so that's a plus. Our biggest complaint is the food here. They have no clue how to cook decent food. It is my understanding, from a resident here, that a couple years ago they had a couple of chefs but they left for a better paying opportunity. What they have now is just dad. Tonight for dinner we had "tuna noodle casserole" which consisted of tuna and noodles and nothing else. Absolutely disgusting!! They serve fried chicken livers that are as hard as a baseball and black as tar. I can't help but think that if visitors were coming in here things would be very different.My husband and I are fortunate because we both have our minds and can order groceries when needed, which we do, but others here are stuck with pretty crappy food. Overall I guess it's as good as any other facility but there are definitely things that could be improved upon. I do have to say I love my CNAs, nurses, Patricia, maintenance crew and housekeeping crew!
