My mother has dementia and cannot articulate her needs or voice complaints but she didn't need to when I recently visited her and found a bulging bruise on the top of her head. I've yet to figure out how a 98 year old woman who is in a wheelchair and unable to move could injure herself in this way. She would have to be a contortioinst! I then feel her skin because she is shivering and crying that she has pain "down" so I realize she means her feet. I thought it was because she had no socks on and her ankles were cold. Thinking this is what the problem is, I remove her shoes to find her feet in such shockingly terrible condition that I couldn't believe my eyes. There were crusted over, stiff, hard with clubbed yellow toenails. You could not tell one toe apart from the next as they were just a mess. They looked as if they had not been given any care whatsoever for a very long time to be reduced to this condition. I got staff involved but no one knew anything about her injury or the condition of her feet and this is because supposedly they bathe, feed, groom and change her everyday. I find that hard to believe as you couldn't miss her head and feet if you tried. I've been calling day and night since this visit four days ago for an update as to what's being done to find out how she obtained the injury as well as what's being done for her feet, but I get no answers and no one calls back. A tiny, frail person, could be anyone's mom or grandma, with dementia, crying and fearful all the time, is found with an orange size bruise and bump on top of he head and feet that are too painful to even move and no one has anything to say or explain. And they get paid for this neglect as well. This experience is eye opening, brutal and heartbreaking. Be careful where you place your loved one.

Very disappointed and not recommended. Facility is clean, staffing poor and unhappy. Therefore, you have this blanket attitude of poor morale. Linens are thin from wear and torn. Food is worse than cafeteria food and childlike portions. No menus or choices you get what you get and its usually cold and hardened. Be prepared to bring your loved one meals while owners get rich. Everything for the patients is the cheapest money can buy. I even had to bring tape for my husbands dressing changes from home! Theirs were so cheap it didn't hold the dressing. An administrator was bullying my husband and was witnessed "getting in his face". Police were called. Stay clear the officers on record (owners) had a previous facility closed down.
