If I could give 0 stars I would. Do Not send anyone you care about to Careone Newton! Absolutely horrible care. My Mom was in the Paloma Unit, beginning with the Nurse Manager very unprofessional and totally lacking any communication skills. Phone calls are not returned, when asking for assistance to go to bathroom, wait over 45 minutes for someone to help. We visited everyday and still care was aweful! In 5 months time my Mom developed ulcers on her bottom and heel that I discovered and nursing staff were unaware of and once treatment begun days would go by and dressing hadn’t been changed. Family meeting set up and when we arrive no one knows about it, happened 2 times. Given insulin but then no one made sure she was eating! I found her almost nonresponsive due to low blood sugar, no one notices anything going on! Facility is disgusting several times plumbing backed up, water trickles out of faucet, staff go in different patient room to get supplies like linens and depends, not acceptable especially during Covid times! When taking my Mom to shower found dried feces on shower chair and showers used for storing equipment. There is one Elevator that is not working half the time. There were a couple good aides and a few good nurses but for the most part lazy staff and very rude beginning with receptionist at front door. Mom was transferred to NW hospital in urosepsis due to neglect from Careone. Two days prior I had asked about a possible urinary infection was told “oh no her urine was fine”, come to find out that was tested a week before not the day I asked! Administration is no good either. They said easiest way to communicate was by email but no one answered email, manager was out for 10 weeks but her email didn’t say this so waiting on response and never got one, contact nursing director, no better! I totally blame my Moms death on the poor care she received at Careone Newton!

Do not send your loved one or anyone to send a loved one to this facility. My mother was a patient there for 5 weeks due to Covid-19. Her needs were not met physically, emotionally or mentally. She was medicated to the point of being incoherent. She was hallucinating. She was yelled at for ringing the bell too much for a water and then was left in a dirty diaper, which she never wore at home. She ended up with a UTI due to E-coli from sitting in a dirty diaper. When I contacted the staff about my concerns they didn't seem to care and then my mothers care went south. As my mothers health care proxy I became increasingly concerned about her health care and I was made to feel like a nuisance. Her medications were not correct and I'm glad she came home when she did. I was informed by Ki-Ki that my mother had to be discharged within 48 hours or she would be charged. The day of the discharge, there was no one to go over the discharge directions. When I retrieved my mother, they attempted to put her in a wheel chair, in a night gown and it was 30 degrees out. The CNA was annoyed that I wanted her dressed for the weather. I brought my mother home in worse condition when she left me. She was wearing a diaper, which she never wore. She needed 24/7 supervision and was wetting herself constantly, and extremely confused. This was supposed to be a REHAB to get her strength back. I'm not done with Care One .

THIS IS THE WORST NURSING HOME I'VE EVER HAD MY MOM IN.PHONES NEVER GET ANSWERED, YOU AS QUESTIONS NO ONE ANSWERS. COMMUNICATION BETWEEN NURSING CARE AND FAMILY IS HORRIBLE. THE DON'T SAY WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON. CHANGE MEDS ON YOUR LOVE ONE AND DON'T TELL THE FAMILY. NO PHONE CALL FROM DR. WHO IS PRESCRIBED MEDICAL

The treatment my mother received at Care One Newton was horrific! The administration does not know what is happening in the Bradford Unit! Nurses are disrespectful and when someone finally answers the phone you are told you will get a phone call back, which I never did unless I repeatedly called and demanded to talk to someone about how my mother was doing. They use Covid as an excuse to keep you in the dark and you have no way to check on your loved ones status. We trust when we put a love one in a medical facility that they will be treated with respect and dignity and medical needs will be addressed. Luckily, I was able to get my mother out of this rehab center and into the hospital.

My uncle (65+) was admitted for physical therapy to bring strength back to his arms, since having stayed so kong in the hospital for pneumonia left him too weak to even feed himself. He has already had muscular dystrophy most of his life and uses an electric mobility chair to get around. He hasn't been able to walk in 6 years, but the staff at CareOne are trying to make him stand up and walk for part of his "physical therapy"! Every nurse/aide that comes to check on in him aren't informed about his conditions at all (or simply don't care). We've already had to bring up that he needs help brushing his teeth, which they been better about. However, the staff never actually responds when the alert button is pressed for assistance. He's even been left in a wet and mess all night because no one came when he he requested help! When we voiced our concern about this, they told us he has to yell for the help!I cannot believe these people are somehow qualified as professionals. This is NOT OKAY.

Based upon my mother's care in short term rehab and hospice, they deserve no less than five stars. I am grateful for the dedication and selflessness of administration, social services, hospice care-givers and nursing staff. The stress of the pandemicled to a few tense interactions but my mom's care was 5 stars

Need 0 star ability. My grandfather was here for one day. By the time they had admitted him... We knew he had to be transferred. They didnt DO anything to help him. Never cleaned him. Even sent him out on a doctor appointment in dirty clothes. In one day, his trach was dirty and infected after having more than 10 years without any problems. DO NOT SEND ANYONE YOU LOVE TO THIS PLACE. THEY NEED UNSCHEDULED INSPECTIONS. The scheduled ones are prepared for and taken care. Dont trust it.

I honestly would not give this place one star. The administrator Emily is ride and could give a shit about the patients. She had 4 CNA s for 59 patients when there should be at least 6. The for us sud par . When you ring the bell it can stay on for hours. There is a younger resident that is paralyzed and he rang his bell one night and he told them he needed to have the bed pan. No one did anything and he sat in it for 6 hours. There are times at night when all the aides and all the nurses seen to disappear. One of my roommates is over 100 and uses a diaper which should be changed every 4 hours and is maybe changed 3 times a day if she is lucky. I have asked for my commode to be emptied so many times and it does there and when they finally empty it it clogs the toilet. I told them I would not like in a room with 3 People but they moved me there not giving a shit 3 months ago. I asked to change rooms so many times that I finally stopped. My next neighbor was talked into signing her bank account over. Why? She changed her mind and they then took her mail opened it and signed the check over to them. My other neighbor went to the hospital and they moved him without asking. They say the administrator tells them. She made a stink about my needs which I go to a pain clinic for. I'm not sure what is going on here but please keep your family away

I wish I could provide a 0 star review for this inept and quite honestly abusive and rehab. My mother in law was brought to this location direct from Newton Wellesley hospital. When we arrived she had been there for a couple of hours and in a state of confusion and distress. We quickly found out that she had not even been admitted at this point. We spoke with Oliver and the nurse about some concerns we had and were assured that they would address these concerns, most importantly that she was a diabetic and on other medication that she would need. Fast forward almost 4 hours later, these concerns were still not addressed, in fact both the nurse and Oliver went on an hour break during this time, leaving the entire section of people they were in care of without care. During this time alarms from rooms were going unanswered and patients were not being attended to. The noise and distraction at 10pm was continuous due to lack of response and I cannot imagine anyone being able to have a decent night's rest. On two occasions a patient requested that another patient be asked to turn their insanely loud tv. I could not believe my eyes as I watched the nurse yell at him to return to his room and shut his door if he didn't like it. I was in TOTAL shock to see a nurse yell at a patient in this manner, on 2 separate occasions. When the nurse finally came into the room, almost 5 hours after arrival to the hospital we had decided to remove her from the facility and bring her back to the hospital until we found an alternative rehab location. At this point we received a call from the facilities administrator who tried to work out a way to avoid this. In fact our concerns that were not addressed in 5 hours, were somehow going to be immediately resolved. We could not in good conscious leave our loved one at this location and proceeded to transfer her to the hospital and fortunately have found an impeccable rehab facility. I do not know where to report this location except to share our experience with others in this forum. If you have a loved one that needs rehab, I would avoid this location at ANY cost.

I went here for a couple of weeks after I had a fall walking on some bricks, and I had a great experience. I had a private room and the staff was very kind. Food for as far as facility food goes was pretty good! Would recommend to my friends and family, for sure.

I've been to a couple of these facilities, trying to find a convenient and overall nice building, and this is it! Kind and professional staff.

My mother is there currently. I am on her proxy and all paperwork and live over an hour away. I have been calling to find out and get health information/updates...Nursing Staff refuses to give me information and is completely rude, telling me they can't discuss it with me!!! Are you kidding me! Keep telling me I'm not on paperwork after attorney gave it to them! Took over 20 mins for someone to actually pick up the phone on the main number on a Friday at 7pm! Then I was transferred 3x to wrong numbers, had to call back to main desk...another 10 mins later! WTH is going on there!! She will be getting transferred as soon as humanly possible! If I could give a zero, I would.

My cousin was found covered in dried on feces all over his body and hands. While in bed. His bedding was completely soiled. He must have been sitting there for hours 3 cna' s were sitting in dining room using cell phones I took pictures for proof , complained and will pursue further action. Lots of administrative issues here going on now for family members, aweful This is neglect at its finest.
