NHC Healthcare - Bristol

My grandmother had open heart surgery and went to NHC for 2 weeks of rehab. The first night she pressed the button for someone to help her go to the bathroom and a tall, slim, man with dark hair and dark beard came, turned the beeping off and left. He never came back to help her. She had to get up and risk falling after surgery to go to the bathroom. She pressed the button again a couple hours later and no one ever came, forcing her to go again by herself. She was not given any pain medication and laid there in absolute agony for close to 24 hours. When she told one of the caretakers that she would be going home the following morning, she tried to intimidate her into staying by saying that her insurance wouldn’t cover it and that she would not be able to take her medication home with her. She had such a horrific experience that she didn’t care. She has been home with no medication all weekend because of the abysmal “care” she received here. Her roommate had to yell “help she’s fallen” in order to get the employees’ attention enough for them to bother coming by. Please do not risk sending your loved ones, or yourself, here.

My uncle was a resident at NHC Bristol for an extended time, sadly he passed away. My family wishes to thank the entire staff for their professional care from the start of his illness to the end of his life. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, not only to him but to our entire family. The building was clean and looked nice. The food was unexpectedly great, it was not the standard institutional food that I had experienced at previous hospitals and care facilities. Whenever we had questions or needed anything, we were always helped by a smiling staff member.Through all of this the memory we will hold forever was at the very end, as his time grew short the love and compassion that filled his room as he was surrounded by those who had cared for him, his angels, comforting the family and watching over him.The staff has my utmost respect for the job that they do. I highly recommend this place if you are considering options for your relative who needs this type of care.

I would like to express that I thought I would never have the need for a facility like NHC Bristol. I became acutely ill 7 months ago, I have been in and out of other facilities and NHC Bristol is the BEST facility in the area. The therapy department went above and beyond for me, they are an outstanding group of people. The nursing staff are top notch, they are the most attentive, caring and compassionate nurses and aides. They helped me thru to the road of recovery and I am finally going home. The biggest heart felt Thank you to nursing and therapy for spoiling me rotten
