Nyack ridge is amazing nursing home. Very caring and devoted staff. During this time of COVID19 they have gone above and beyond. My aunt is there and my family is very happy with the care. Thank you.

My father stayed here (unfortunately) for about 2 months. They say they can handle dementia/Alzheimer's patients, but they cannot. When I visited, my father would be ravenously hungry. I found out that instead of escorting him down to meals, an aide would knock at his door and say, "Mealtime," and leave. If a person has dementia, do you think that person is capable of getting up, walking down the hall to the elevator, pressing the right button, and getting themselves to the cafeteria? He was FORGETTING to eat because, as I said, they didn't know how to handle dementia patients. Also, my father's fingernails became dirty and always needed clipping when I visited. THEY were supposed to be doing this for him. Sometimes, he was unshaven--again, because they weren't attentive. We visited DAILY, and this place still managed to be neglectful and sub-par. Thankfully, my dad only stayed 2 months before we got him out. BEWARE: They changed its name to "Nyack Ridge," but the owner hasn't changed. Some nice, caring people work there, but not enough to make it a pleasant place, ESPECIALLY for a person with dementia.
