Oakwood Estate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

I would rate them negative 10 if I could. My sibling was there on the COVID unit, he had no phone in his room, he stated there was no bathroom in the room (did not verify that). He reported nurses yelled at him, and were defensive, he feared retaliation. His call light was broke for a week, had to call out to nursing for assistance. He was transported to an MD appointment, the attendant who accompanied him refused to allow him the prescribed amount of oxygen he required for the trip, she also argued with the MD in his office that my brother did not need more oxygen, he went into early respiratory failure and was transported to an ER, and admitted to the ICU where they also diagnosed him with pneumonia he developed since arriving at Oakwood Estates nursing home. The final insult was that I was told to drive around to the rear of the nursing home, the back door, to pick his belongings up, which was where the trash dumpster was, a gravel road with huge potholes...trashy area, several items of his clothing were missing. Unbelievable!

My husband went on the COVID rehab unit and it was aweful. First room toilet did not work. Moved to another room and he was cold. It was difficult to get administrative staff to return calls. He has not seen by the Dr until day 7 and that was so he could be discharged. In a week there he only had one shower! He smelled so bad when I picked him up I almost threw up. No phones in room. My heart breaks for people there and noone to advocate for them. The staff were nice to him but under staffed. Please do NOT p ut your loved one here!
