Riverside Manor

This place is awful and I wouldn't allow them to care for my dog! I went to visit my aunt who was a terminal patient at this facility. The staff knew my aunt had passed away as they had already prepared her for transport to the funeral home. This was my first visit to see her at this location. The staff led me to her room where the door was closed with NO communication exchanged with me. Once we reached her room the (administration) staff member turned and walked back to her office. They let me walk in that room to find out for myself that my aunt was laying in the bed DECEASED. As this was taking place a phone call was placed to my aunt's husband to inform him of my presence there, where he immediately showed up in attempt to intercept this visit. It was then that I was informed that she had passed away that "morning". My visit there took place around 3:00 that afternoon. So her deceased body had laid there all day with NO communication to inform me of her passing. Also, after finding her deceased the staff told me they were waiting on the funeral home to come and transport her body. This was a lie as I paid a visit to the funeral home upon leaving the nursing home. They informed me they were waiting on the call from the nursing home to go get her body. So, in summary, they lied to me, failed to inform me she had passed away, and let me discover this on my own upon going into her room and conspired with her husband by reporting my presence there to him. I reported this and received a reply that no wrong doing had occurred. As far as I'm concerned, there was wrong doing from the time I entered the facility. Who lets a family member walk into a patient's room to discover them laying there deceased without even being told? And on top of that, find out she has been laying there the entire day deceased? This is WRONG in every sense of the word....morally, ethnically, mentally, etc. And where in the handbook does it say they are required to report visitors to her spouse?
