My husband was a resident at Sandy Lake Rehab for about a week after valve replacement surgery. The rooms were dirty. The food was bad. Skilled nursing was a joke. The staff spent most of the time chatting with other staff or on their phones rather than caring for patients. They lost most of my husband's clothes. The phone frequently went unanswered or to voice mail with few returned calls. My husband developed pneumonia but the staff was very uncommunicative. He died in ICU a week after being transferred by ambulance at my insistence. If you care about your loved ones, don't use Sandy Lake Rehab.
