Sante of Surprise

Eight years ago this was one of the best rehab facilities in the area so when my wife fell and fractured her hip I chose Sante of Surprise. It has changed and now after her experience I feel it is one of the worst. I removed her before they were ready to release, brought her home and hired a private caregiver to help her recover.

My 100-year-old mother was in Sante for two weeks following surgery for a broken hip. She was not mobile and was left in dirty diapers for entire nights and was not turned often enough, resulting In sores on her bottom. Plus she had a pressure sore on one heel. Following Sante she went to a wonderful private care home that had to photograph and document her sores due to the severity. At Sante my Mom was brought foods that were on her allergy list and should not have been brought to her. When she was taken out of bed she was placed in a wheelchair In her room for hours, which had no place to rest her head. Responses to her call button were slow. In some cases she had to call my sister or myself and have us call the nurses station. I do not recommend Sante for persons who are not mobile.

I spent a month in Santee rehab in July of this year. Previously I was in another facility and had the worse experience ever. Then I was moved to Santee and couldn't believe the difference. Like night and day. The rooms were very comfortable. The food very tasty and the nursing staff, very efficient. Also the therapists were great. When I left for home I was assigned a home health care nurse named Irma. She was the absolute best nurse that's ever been assigned to me. She was professional, sweet personality, and always cheerful. Her care was exceptional. I just can't give her the best review she deserves. If anyone ever needed a nurse for home care, I would recommend her to anyone. Again, her name was Irma.
