Visiting Angels

Working with these people was a nightmare. The agency sent mostly 20y/o kids from LaRoche College who had no experience at all. Some had only been in the US for several months. Two of them dropped my mom out of th hoyer lift and her wheelchair. We asked nothing of them except to be with my mom. We told them they did not have to do dishes, clean, or do laundry. We fed them steak dinner!!! Little or no effort to talk to my mom who has some dementia. No effort to engage her in any activity, read to her or even do her exercises with her as per the contract. Owner told me we should remove a lovely Japanese statue my mom got 30 years ago biz it was an "idol". Owner was very nasty and stated her employees were working too hard having to use the hoyer lift as my mom cannot stand. Are you kidding me!!!! Most of the time they parked my mom in one room then went to sit in another room!! And there were 2 of them there at the same time that we were paying!!! DO NOT HIRE THIS AGENCY!! They were supposed to follow a care plan and most did not document anything, and some of the documentation was falsified. Rarely did the previous shift talk to the oncoming shift so nobody really knew what was going on. My mom had to wear foot drop boots on then off for 4 hours at a time. No one documented when the times were and when I asked if it was time to put the boots back on the girl said I don't know. He time were supposed to be documented but again nobody cared enough to document the times. I am an RN so I saw first hand the sloppiness, lack of knowledge and lack of compassion these people had. These kids they send were useless. Some didn't even know how to use a hoyer lift although we were told they were trained on it. We had to show them how!!!!!
