My friend is there right now recovering from major surgery. She has been on pain meds before her surgery. She is not asking for more as she wasn’t prescribed more. All she is asking for is her pain meds to be given on time. She is told she has to wait. My friend should not HAVE TO wait for these pain pills. They are not complying with the instructions give by her pain med Dr. Even if a different Dr is in charge. Yesterday she started hot/cold systems. She is very understanding of the shortage of staff. But this is unacceptable

I am so sorry to read what others are going through. My loved one went down hill very quickly after admission amid problems with over-medication and neglect.

I wanted to share with those who are looking for a nursing facility, that the Medicare ratings that you see on this site or others, are derived from the state's annual inspections or from incidents that occur only with their Medicare/Medicaid residents. Facilities are not required to report incidents/accidents that occur with Private Pay residents to Medicare/Medicaid, so the data is inaccurate. Suppose there are 50 residents receiving Medicaid and 50 residents paying privately and within a year, 20 of the Private Pay residents have an accident or are overdosed, etc.; but none of the Medicaid residents have issues. The rating would probably be 5 stars for safety because there is no requirement to report the private payer incidents! Also, a once-a-year visit from the state is not frequent enough to keep these facilities accountable.

My mom has glioblastoma and is in her last stages . Administrator and Social worker are absolutely rude and disrespectful. Going in Interrogating mother, Signs of abuse and neglect. Had Attorney go in and hand in the POA on a Saturday. Kept telling them my mother had a UTI , they kept telling me I wasn’t her POA . Finally got them to test her . She suffered for months . Please do research ,they have been cited for abuse in the past . The social worker Illegally opened My mothers mail ,taking away her legal rights . If you expect to be treated with respect and dignity please don’t send a loved one to this facility as they are Uneducated on residence and family rights and will all talk to you in the most Unprofessional and disrespectful manner. Very scary that people like this are running a facility with helpless patients in it .

Had a wonderful stay at wolcott. Glad I am out but if i need skilled care again i will be back.
