The Heinz-Menaker Senior Center is the oldest senior center in the city and offers a variety of recreational, social, health and nutrition services to seniors in the midtown region of Harrisburg. In addition to activities, seniors can find daily hot meals at the facility, which helps more than 300 seniors a year.

The Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging helps all seniors over the age of 60 who require services in order to remain healthy and safe within their homes. In addition to running a local senior center, the Area Agency on Aging also provides congregate meals, nutrition programs and farmer’s market vouchers for seniors, local transportation programs, and provides information to seniors who need help navigating local resources. The agency also can help with health insurance queries related to Medicare and some legal issues.
