Memory Care Costs in Columbus, IN
Many assisted living facilities include memory care in their programs. Alongside services such as food preparation, laundry, supervision and activities, memory care facilities provide Alzheimer's-specific programs to address the cognitive and behavioral problems associated with memory loss. Staff members are also specially trained to deal with these problems. As a result, the cost of memory care is generally 20-30% higher than the cost of assisted living. To reflect this, we have taken the assisted living costs reported by the Genworth 2020 Cost of Care Survey and added 25% to estimate the cost of memory care in Columbus. Using this calculation, the average monthly cost of memory care in Columbus is $4,031 per month. This is significantly lower than the state average of $5,478 and the national average of $5,375.
