Located on the shores of Lake Erie, Erie is a medium-sized city whose population of roughly 95,000 includes close to 13,000 seniors ages 65 and older. The lake-effect snow and harsh winters lowered Erie’s score for General Quality of Life to a 58, as did the average air quality and dense population.
