Altercare Post-Acute

So sad what this place has become... My family member was in here two other times and loved it. So much so we had came back with donations for their Bingo and puzzles for the residents. Not this time.. Some will blame Covid others will blame staffing. I had to make numerous calls regarding unanswered call lights of 30-45 minutes for help to the restroom and back, pain meds given to late, staff giving attitude when asked for ice, food was cold by the time it made it to them. When it takes over an hour for you to get someone to take you seriously about your loved one having issues breathing...My mother was in congestive heart failure. She had been in this facility for almost 3 weeks and weighed twice so it wasn’t caught earlier. (she had put on almost 12#). It’s serious.. I understand we are dealing with a pandemic. I understand everywhere is short staffed. But you need to understand this is your family members life.. I had my Mother pulled from here and taken to the hospital. Luckily she is still with us.Just be aware these facilities are understaffed, the nurses are tired, and they are still taking more patients. My Mom won’t be going back here and I will never recommend this place again (which is unfortunate the Rehab staff is awesome). Management was made aware of the issues while they were going on, I was told they would take care of it “But it’s not a five star resort”. What’s crazy is I wasn’t hoping for “a five star resort”just wanted to believe this place would give the care I expected and her health insurance paid for...
