Aspire Physical Recovery Center at Hoover

I was in this facility for nine day recently, the service was the worse I have ever had anywhere. I was there exactly five years this same month. I only had one complaint at that time and of course that didn't change at all, STILL the same..This April I checked in at 6:30 pm on a Friday evening. They took me to my room put me in a chair, while my granddaughter went to get my things from you my home. Meanwhile I got sick and was hurting so finally made it to bed, still by myself.. My granddaughter got back and got me into my PJ, put my thing put away, still no one to check on me. Ramsey (my granddaughter) just happen to bring me a bottle of water from home.. I had no water in my room, they came in sometime in the night to take my Blood pressure, I ask did they furnish water or did need to pay for it.. She told me would bring me some... WELL, Saturday came along I ask several workers, the answer was always the same, I will get you some and I will be right back.. A NO SHOW.. THEN Sunday came along, same thing. So after 2:30pm I ask again, by the time I got it was dark outside . Not only did I not get water, I had no towels, wash cloths or soap, now this was since Friday. Needless to say I had to use paper towels to wash off with until Sunday night. For my meals they brought them to me in a go box until someone from the office happen to see it, a few day before I left home. It would stay on my table until they brought the next meal.. Oh, and my medicine it took them for ever to started giving it too me. I would ask what was it. The answer was I don't really know but I know it over the counter, the order medicine is in another cabinet.. .. When my regular medicine would come, I ask the same question (what is it) I don't really know and I can't pronounce it. I was there for therapy, I got 10 minutes in the morning and ten minutes in the afternoon.. So that meant I was just in my room all the rest of the time.. A WASTED NINE DAY!!! I reported it and Sherry talked to them to them and they began to come into the and say good. Morning. I choose this place because it was close to my home. And 5 years it was different, although the therapy was the same.Would not ever go back.. I have contacted my Insurance.. Now that does mean all the people rude there were some nice one as well.. I don't recommend it.. I have more to say, but I think I have said enough.. Just saying...

This place is a joke! When you are in a rehab facility, shouldn't REHAB BE TAKING PLACE! Not to mention the call buttons are simply a light that goes off to the desk. What if it was an emergency?? Something like a patient choking? Or need to go the bathroom with assistant? You never know what emergency could arise. The fact that you can't SPEAK to a nurse and tell them what's going on seems very dangerous! I WOULD NOT EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I took my father out early because of the lack of care and lack of physical therapy. We had to bring our own bottled water to make certain my father had enough water offered. He came home with bed sores because he was on his back most days, ALL day and night. There are so many reasons NOT to take your loved one there.... no rehab took place, in fact, he was worse when he left there, than he was when he left the hospital. They hire their staff through contractors... so most of the staff doesn't work for Aspire, they work for another company. Because of this management style, congruent teamwork and staff ownership of their jobs will not be present at their facilities. I surely wish I could say my dad had a wonderful healthy stay with Aspire so he'd be in better health.

The facility is beautiful looking inside and out. However, the staff leaves much to be desired. I have a family member that is currently a resident of this facility. The physical therapists are exceptional. In addition to doing their own jobs, they take the time to assist my family member with tasks the general staff should be doing. The staff members can be heard laughing and joking while residents need assistance. Also, some days the food is good and some days questionable and don't get me started on the small portions.....patients shouldn't have to wait 12-14 hours to get something to eat between dinner and breakfast. This is just a means to an end.

Emily gray should be fired ASAP I have two family members in this place and both complains all the time saying she rude and cusses them and yells at them it’s so disrespectful and she looks high on drugs every time I seen here in there

Staff is untrained an rude. One nurse had altercation with my grandmother while I was in the room one night. My grandmother is 96 and can be grumpy and can be difficult. But they yelled at her which was unnecessary. Would NOT recommend!!
