Kindred Hospital Las Vegas - Flamingo

If I could give this facility a ZERO I would. This facility is staffed with nurses who behaved towards me and my family in aN unprofessional way to say the very least! I've been an RN for 22 years and I've never seen such atrocious behavior! My mother was admitted to kindred after being discharged for rehab. She had suffered a stroke, broke her hip, developed pneumonia and a urinary tract infection & finally a GI bleed that required 21 units of blood over a 5 day period! After about 2 wks or so at kindred, she started to complain of rectal pain (same area that caused her bleeding). She was never EXAMINED by a Doctor there- only prescribed Percocet. (This is constipating and could lead to another GI bleed) when questioned how could i get my mother to be examined by a Doctor "same day" because she was experiencing new 9/10 pain- the charge nurse responded with "you'd have to call 911- this is a SNF ya know"..... long story short we did call 911, and as it turns out, my mother had another UTI and referred pain from her broken hip. When the hospital (where Doctors examine patients) tried to transfer her back to kindred, they were lied to and told that she could not return because my mother signed out AMA (against medical advice).... WHAT?!?!! No she didn't! But- this healthcare facility does not like family members who care, and ask questions. This facility wants you to sit down and be quiet- and if you die? You're not the first and won't be the last. And administration does NOTHING. The CEO has been notified, corporate complaints department has been notified and they've not responded at all! Smh- this facility is an embarrassment to healthcare providers who actually care for patients all across America. RUN from this facility, and do not look back! Better care alone at motel 6!
