Regency Jewish Heritage Post-Acute Rehabilitation And Nursing Center

I cannot say enough positive things about the Regency Jewish Heritage. I can only surmise that the negative reviews here were posted by competitors of theirs or disgruntled former employees.They take care of my loved one with singular dedication and compassion and after several horrible experiences with other rehab facilities and nursing centers, Regency Jewish Heritage was a breath of fresh air and a Godsend for us. We sleep very well at night, knowing Mom is in good hands even during this pandemic.

My mom caught Covid 19 at the Jewish Regency and died on 4/8/20. This is an under staffed facility that has no regard for the health, safety and wellbeing of their staff and patients.I had brought my mom to the Jewish Regency because I believed their promises and marketing hype. Sad to say, but after only a couple of months of being here, my mother died from Covid 19 on 4/8/20. A few days before, my mom had been sick for a few days so I insisted they send her to the hospital. She went to RWJ New Brunswick, where they informed me my mother was positive with Covid 19.Also, I have heard from several of their staff that the Jewish Regency has NOT been furnishing them with the most minimal PPE like masks. When I was there, I actually saw staff with no masks and some covering their mouths with a handkerchief. Their staff are begging me to bring them some PPE so they can protect themselves. I felt terrible for their staff so I recently dropped off some masks for them. Their staff have told me that the Jewish Regency keeps the Covid 19 death toll a secret from them and from patient family members. Many residents go to the hospital and never come back. The administrators tell the staff nothing again about the residents. Shame the Jewish Regency. They should be held responsible in the court of law and public opinion for their crimes against our mothers, fathers and dearly loved ones. Their willful negligence was and is deliberate with intentional disregard for their patients and staff.Here is the chronology of events:On 3/12/20 I personally met with M, one of the owners, asking him about the safety and hygiene of his facility because I was considering taking my mom home. This was the first day visitors were prohibited from entering the facility. He insisted that his staff have full access to the best PPE (masks and gowns) and that they are a safe and clean facility for my mom to stay in. He assured me they have a disaster plan in place.On 3/19/20 I left a voicemail message for M asking him again about the safety of his facility and whether there were any Covid 19 cases there. I got no response.On 4/3/20 I insisted they send my mom to the hospital because she was sick. That same day the hospital informed me my mom had Covid 19.On 4/8/20 my dear mom passed away at RWJ New Brunswick hospital.As of 4/21/20, when I wrote this review, I haven’t had a single call back from M, or any any of the other administrators at the Jewish Regency regarding my mom. It’s like they just forgot about her. I’ve left several messages for them asking how I can come collect my mother’s belongings. It’s been a total communication blackout.On 4/22/20, The day after I wrote my review, I got a call from the Jewish Regency case manager. I kid you not, when I say he asked me: “ so, how is he doing and where is he exactly?” When I told him my mother died, he said: “wow, thanks for letting me know. We had no idea what was going on.” Then, I received a similarly ridiculous and clueless call from their social worker asking where my mom is and how she is feeling. On 5/1/20 I received a plant and generic sympathy card from them. On the same day, I returned it by placing it at their front door.

They never have enough help. Frequent turnover. Frequently skipped doses of medicine. Skipped showers (and they only give 2 a week). Food was of poor quality. Same things repeated week in and week out. Soups made from salty cubes. Linens changed whenever. I used to mark sheets with marker so I know. Ring the bell for help and nothing happens. Send your lived ones there for a sad existence and hope they stay alive. Some of their help was just plain mean and nasty. So sad

Extremely horrible place. My father was here for about 2 yrs. The social worker Julia was very rude and uncaring. Everyone had an attitude even before you asked for help..the nurses, aids, and others. No one helped me with the horrible,heavy, large doors to take my father out in the open. They never cleaned my father properly and one time he had faeces caked on his arm. They took the dirty cleaning cloth and wiped his face,neck, and inflicted his sore even more. Many times they also cut him deeply when shaving him. They also never cleaned his eyes after he woke up. There was tons of gloppy on his eyes and no one ever thought to wipe that off. The rehab group would become very angry when you.mentioned rehab for him.
