The Belmont at Twin Creeks

I am a patient here now and I am not satisfied with the care I’m being given! I’m not able to get up unassisted and no one checks on me to see if I’m wet or need anything. It takes forever to get someone to come to my room. The food isn’t enough to keep a bird alive much less an 81 year old woman. I’ve been here since Tuesday and today is Friday. I’m planning on leaving real soon if things don’t get better!!!????????????

Our mother was at The Belmont in Allen, Texas from Dec. 31, 2019 until her passing on January 22, 2020. When it became clear that she needed a skilled nursing facility we did extensive research to find the best option. This was very difficult because so many reviews of these facilities were filled with negative comments. After physically checking out two, we chose The Belmont. We could not have been more pleased with this facility. At age 94 and in failing health, we did not truly expect recovery and we just wanted Mom to be as comfortable as possible and get the best care she could. The nurses and aides at The Belmont were outstanding. We watched interactions, particularly with the aides, as they dressed, changed, bathed and fed Mom. They were gentle, kind, compassionate and patient. While difficult to watch Mom’s decline, we were comforted in knowing that when we weren’t able to be with her, her needs were being met. The facility is well kept and the administrative staff is responsive and provided whatever information we needed to make the right decisions.

The Belmont is so understaffed that people sit in urin and feces for up to 30 minutes before getting changed. the weekends are awful and often 4 techs for 78 people who,are total care. its a disgrace.

The nurses get 100% for their care, the therapy group are great, the food is fantastic, the rooms are good and clean. The only problem I encountered was with the nurses' aids. 2 of the aids were awful. One for rudeness and did not give help when help was needed. One was very polite, smiles etc, however I told her what I needed she smiled walked out of the room to never coming back. This happened over and over again. I reported them both. One, the rude one I never encountered again and the polite one never changed her ways. These aids are very important for the care of patients especially the ones that cannot do for themselves. I give Ace Player to Phil, DeDe and Pierre in nursing. Juanita, in nursing aids, Hazel in therapy. These are the ones that I came into contact the most.
